Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to get my fastTrack site running?
You'll get a welcome email from me within 2 business days of placing your order, and often much faster than that. Included in the email will be a link to a "development copy" of your new site, which will already have been created for you.
If you have purchased the fastTrack PLUS package, the email will also include the steps needed to determine the availability of your chosen domain name. Due to the nature of domain registration, choosing a domain name, or deciding upon an alternte name if your first choice is unavailable, can add a number of days to the process. Development of your fastTrack site will still move forward during this time.
This email will also include a series of questions which will give me the information I need to begin customizing your site. Questions will include a request for the list of initial pages (with several common page types suggested, to give you a starting point) as well as questions about your logo, and color theme, etc.
Does my fastTrack include everything I need to get the site online?
The standard fastTrack package assumes that you already have a registered domain name, and a hosting agreement which includes the required php and mysql tools.
fastTrack PLUS is a complete starter package, which includes registration of a domain name for one year, hosting at lunarpages.com for one year, and all of the features and services of the standard fastTrack package.
Can I use fastCart as a complete online store?
fastCart is designed to be a small-footprint and easy to administer solution for those needing to offer a small number of products or services, without the overhead involved in a complete ecommerce solution. To achieve this end, many functions and features that would be considered standard in an ecommerce application (such as shipping calculation, tax tables, and inventory control) are not to be found in the fastCart.
